Christine D. Switajewski Lugli

Born in New Britain on September 23, 1950, she was daughter to the late Henry and Dorothy ( Kruszewski) Switajewski. She attended local schools and graduated from Mary Immaculate Academy. She began her career at the New Britain Hearld in 1968 and worked at the Hearld for over 40 years, retiring in 2011. It was there that she met her husband Robert and together they would have celebrated 40 years of marriage this September.

Christine was a devoted wife, daughter, sister and aunt, caring for her family was always first and foremost to her, putting others needs ahead of hers. She enjoyed spending time at her 2nd home in Florida, trips to Atlantic City, Car Shows, and Cruise Nights. She was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed the going to the New Britain Rock Cats.

Besides her loving husband Robert, she is survived by her two brothers, John Switajewski and his wife Christine, of Southington and Francis Switajewski and his wife Tracy of Cheshire, three nephews, Erik Lugli, John Switajewski, and Mathew Switajewski and one niece Dana Chalupka.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, May 17th, 2014 at 8:30 AM from the New Britain Memorial Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave. New Britain, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30am Sacred Heart Church, 158 Broad St. New Britain. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visitation hours will be held Friday, May 16th, from 4-8pm at the funeral home.
