Daphne Blanche (Gostlin) Maratta 100, wife of the late Dominick Maratta passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 1, 2026. She was born July 10, 1926 in London, England a daughter of the late Bert and Blanche (Church) Gostlin. Daphne was a dress maker in England. She met her husband at the USO dance and they were married August 24, 1945 in England and later immigrated to the United States in 1946. They settled in New Britain where they raised four children. Daphne worked at Raphael's Dept. Store and retired from Loctite Corp. after 20 plus years. She was passionate about her floral and vegetable gardens.
She is survived by a son Gary (Roberta) Maratta of Farmington, a daughter; Kathleen Morey of Marlborough, four grandchildren; Jason (Teri) Maratta of Cheshire, Kristine (Umello)Ochaechesi of North Carolina and Troy and Trevor Maratta of Hawaii, four great-grandchildren; Taylor,Avery, Sarah and George as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband she was predeceased by two sons; Mark Maratta and Francis "Frank" Maratta, a grandson Christopher Maratta and a sister Doreen Richter.
Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, November 4, 2026 from 10:30am-12:30pm at New Britain Memorial-Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave., New Britain, CT. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 12:30pm. Burial next to her husband will follow at St. Mary Cemetery, Stanley St., New Britain, CT
