Diane A. Jankowski

Born in Hartford, Connecticut, November 10, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Katherine Judenis. Raised in Hartford, she attended local schools and married Mr. Edward Jankowski in 1957. They settled in New Britain and were married 51 years, until Ed’s passing in 2008.

Diane enjoyed a 30-year career at the Aetna Insurance Company where she worked in the Human Resources Department. She was also active in the Aetna Women’s Club. Diane’s biggest passion, however, was travel. She and Ed visited many parts of the United States, including national parks and a memorable trip in which they drove the length of the Pacific Coast Highway. They also enjoyed ocean cruises. Diane and Ed made numerous trips to visit their nieces and nephews who lived in different parts of the country, often for big events like high school or college graduation and marriages. At trips end, Diane would always say, “we will see you next time”. After Ed’s passing, Diane continued to be a world traveler, touring several European countries. She was particularly fond of Germany and Scotland, countries that she found to have very fine scenery and the best beer in the world.

Diane is survived by her many nieces and nephews, and her special friends Elaine Pindar and Pam Salerni of New Britain. She will be greatly missed by her other friends and neighbors at Franklin Square Manor. Diane was predeceased by her brothers Albert and Arthur Judenis, and her sister Edna Miscavich.

Diane's family wish to extend their sincerest gratitude to Mabel and Anna, home aides who over the past months provided wonderful care and compassion to Diane.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at 11am at the New Britain Memorial and Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Avenue, New Britain, Connecticut.
