Dorothy Alice Lecours, 69, the only child of deceased Dorothy and William Goggins from Waterbury, CT has made her ASCENSION to the stars on July 5th, 2018. Look up and search the sky to find her shining light sparkling brightly each night as a reminder to BELIEVE.
Dorothy was born on August 30, 1947. Her cousins Joe Croughwell of South Carolina, Patrick Croughwell of Waterbury, CT and Tara (Goggin) Hardy of Madison, CT survive her.
Dorothy found enormous JOY in discovering multi-sensory approaches to inspire children to LOVE to read and build their self-esteem. She had a passion for playing with positive words that would empower all to celebrate their UNIQUENESS. Dorothy, was the author of the children’s book “The S.T.A.R. Powered Twins” and the creator of the Children’s Card Deck “I AM THAT, I AM” designed to enlighten children. She was a member of Writer’s Net, Skype An Arthur, Humanity Healing Community and Connecticut’s Writer’s and Publisher’s Association.
Dorothy was a first grade teacher at B.W. Tinker School for thirty-five years. She was a member of the Waterbury Teacher’s Association for thirty-five years.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to New Britain Memorial Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave., New Britain, CT 06053. Her ashes will be scattered in Maui, the land of rainbows. There will be no calling hours so please take a moment to do a random act of kindness in her memory.
