March 11, 1947 – March 12, 2026
With heavy hearts and deep love, we announce the passing of Emma Barbosa, who gained her heavenly wings on March 12, 2026, just one day after celebrating her 79th birthday. Emma was a woman of strength, warmth, and unwavering love for her family. Her life was defined by her resilience, her generosity of spirit, and the way she made everyone around her feel cared for and welcomed.
Emma was predeceased by her beloved son, Angel Estrada; her great granddaughter Persiphonie, brothers Jose Celso Barbosa of New York and Hector Barbosa of Puerto Rico; and her sisters Norma Clausell of New Britain and Maria Rodriguez of Puerto Rico. Though their absence left deep spaces in her heart, she carried their memories with love throughout her life.
She leaves behind siblings who will forever cherish her memory: her sisters Myrna Colon of Meriden and Carmen Nelly of Puerto Rico, and her brothers Radames Barbosa, Angel “Papo” Barbosa, Eusebio Barbosa, Jr, Cheo Barbosa & Roberto Barbosa all of Puerto Rico, and Hector Rafi Barbosa of New York.
Emma’s greatest pride and joy was her family. She leaves behind her three beautiful daughters who were the center of her world: Wilma Barbosa-Holley and her husband Willie Holley of New Britain, Brenda Barbosa of Georgia, and Enidza Arroyo-Jones and her husband Naru Jones of Miami. Through them, her love and strength will continue to live on.
She was a devoted grandmother to Demitri, Richelle, Richard, Latrisha, Ebony, Walter, Sha, Darrence, Skylar, and Angel Jr., each of whom held a special place in her heart.
Emma was also blessed to see the next generation grow through her beloved great-grandchildren: Marijah, Yariah, Caden, Marquel, Madisyn, Brielle, Marley, Josephine, Rowen, Jurnee, and Zoey, who brought her immense joy and pride.
In addition to her immediate family, Emma leaves behind a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends whose lives were touched by her kindness, laughter, and loving spirit.
Emma was the heart of her family — a woman whose love ran deep and whose presence made people feel safe, supported, and cherished. Her legacy is one of family, resilience, and unconditional love. While our hearts mourn her loss, we take comfort knowing that her spirit lives on through the many lives she touched.
She will be deeply loved, the sound of her laughter will forever be missed, and her “I love you more” will never be forgotten.
