He was the son of the late Gino and Flavia (Verzulli) Bonati. Born in New Britain and attended local schools. He was employed as a Carpenter for the New Britain General Hospital for 35 years retiring 20 years ago. He then worked as a room attendant for Indian Hill Country Club in Newington and was an avid golfer and bowler. Eugene had a love for playing the trumpet and performed in several bands including the Sebby Papa Orchestra.
In addition to his wife he survived by a son and daughter in law, Eugene C. Bonati and Irene of Unionville, a daughter and son in law, Donna Kukucka-Cortalola and her husband John Coratola of Vernon, a sister Lorraine Magnoli of Newington and a brother Richard Bonati of Clinton. Six grandchildren, one great granddaughter and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to a time of visitation on Saturday January 19th 2013, from 10-11am at New Britain Memorial Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave., New Britain, followed by a prayer service at 11am. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
