Evangeline (Dube) Picard, 96, widow of Gerald Picard of Plainville passed away on June 9, 2020 at Apple Rehab of Farmington Valley. Eva was born June 16, 1923 in Wallagrass, ME to the late Belone and Mary Jane (Belanger) Dube. Eva moved to New Britain, CT from Maine at the age of 16 with a girlfriend and later she brought her family to Connecticut to live with her. She worked at Norton Jud Manufacturing for two years making belt buckles. Later she was employed at Fafner Bearing for 36 years. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mercy in Plainville and she enjoyed crocheting and playing solitaire. She was an avid reader, especially her four favorite magazines The Enquirer, The Examiner, The Globe, and Star. She will be most remembered for her humor and crocheting gifts to be passed out as Christmas presents. In addition to her husband Gerald Picard, Eva is survived and will be dearly missed by her daughter-in-law Anne Alexander, son-in-law Larry Lubomski, sister Jackie Morin, grandchildren Sonia Watts, Michelle Landry, Shawn Alexander, Christy Crandall, and Michael Lubomski, and twelve great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Bruce Alexander; her daughter Linda Alexander Lubomski; brothers Herman, Norman, Belone Jr, and Edmond Dube; sister Rita Corriveau. Calling hours will be held from 9:00-10:30 at New Britain Memorial-Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave, New Britain, CT followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mercy Church, 19 S Canal St, Plainville, CT, interment services will be held at 12:00pm at Saint Mary Cemetery, 1141 Stanley St, New Britain, CT.
