

Born in Turka nad Stryjem, Poland in 1925, she was one of seven children born to Henryk, and Tekla Kapusta.
During World War II, when Germany invaded her town, she was taken by the Nazis from her home, squeezed into a cattle car and into forced labor where she suffered the horrors of the war. When the war ended, she joined the allies in Italy, where she worked at the Polish Third Military Hospital caring for wounded soldiers. There she met her husband Kazimierz.
Evacuated into England they married, and had two children, Henry and Lillian. Several years later, they immigrated to the United States to New Britain, where they would work, and make a better life for the family. Upon her retirement, Frances enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren but especially working in her garden and grew amazing flowers and vegetables which she shared with her family and neighbors.
Frances, the Matriarch of the family, was predeceased by her husband, brothers and sisters. She leaves her daughter, Lillian (David Zashut) Pietrzak and her son, Henry (Angie) Perucki. Her grandchildren, Steven, Robert (Elizabeth), William (Megan), Lisa (Thomas), Richard (Caryn), and Joseph. Her great-grandchildren, Katelyn, Yvette, Robert Jr., Andrew, Jacob, Hannah and Nathan. Special thank you to her friend and singing companion, Lucy.
Viewing hours will be on Saturday, January 7, 2023 from 8:30 to 10:00 AM at the New Britain Memorial Sagarino Funeral Home at 444 Farmington Ave., New Britain follow by a mass of Christian burial at 11 o’clock at Sacred Heart Church 158 Broad St., New Britain, CT. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers please make a donation in Frances’ name to the Polish Czestochowa, Doylestown, PA or Sacred Heart Church.
