He was born in New Britain and was the son of the late, Louis and Maria (Cuccinotte) Salerno. He proudly served in the US Navy during WWII, and retired from New Britain Machine; after his retirement he spent many years as a real estate agent.
He was a loving husband, father and grandfather, enjoyed playing golf and photography, but his greatest joy was being with his family. He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church and the Elks Lodge.
He is survived by his devoted wife, of 62 years, Josephine (Arcidiacono) Salerno and his beloved children, Linda Sisti and her husband, Patrick of Southington; Frank Salerno and his wife, Kate of Higganum. He leaves three loving grandchildren, who were his pride and joy, Matthew Sisti and his wife, Jennifer; Laura Sisti and Rebecca Salerno. He was predeceased by his grandson, Michael Sisti.
Funeral Services will be on Monday, January 7, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the New Britain Memorial-Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Avenue New Britain, (Directions, Exit 37 off I-84 take a right at the exit, 1 /2 miles on your right.
Friends and relatives are invited to pay their last respects on Monday morning from 9:00 a.m. till the time of service at the funeral home.
