George Star

George Star, 84, a longtime resident of New Britain, passed away May 25, 2015. He was born in Poland, a son of the late Antoni and Aniela (Makula) Starnowski and came to the United States in 1973. He was a set-up man for Atlantic Tool, Fafnir and later Stanley Works, from which he retired. He is survived by his beloved wife of 21 years, Ewa (Bialecka) Star, two step-daughters Karolina Piotrowicz and her husband Mikolaj of Berlin and Elzbieta Talaska and her husband Artur of New Britain, two daughters Malgorzata Kubnek-Kotarski and her husband Jaroslaw of Bristol, Ewa Balcarek-Kozirog and her husband Grzegorz of Bristol, two sisters Jadwiga and Wanda, six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Friday May 29, 2015 at 9AM from the New Britain Memorial-Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Avenue, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial 10AM at Holy Cross Church, burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, all in New Britain.
