

He was born August 28, 1926 in Marsala, Italy to the late Francesco and Isabella Gandolfo. In 1959 he moved his family to Venezuela where he owned and operated a bakery. In 1969 he and his family moved to the United States.
Giuseppe was a professional baker, operating Hometown Bakery in Bristol CT for many years and later working at numerous bakeries in the Greater Hartford area. He loved to watch soccer games and kept a picture of the Italian soccer team on the wall near his television. He enjoyed a good poker game with friends and family and was always ready to play. He was a member of the Generale Ameglio Italian Club in New Britain, CT where he spent much time. He had a passion for good food, wine and especially good bread. He is survived by his Sorelena (Arana) Gandolfo of New York, he will be dearly missed by his daughter Rosa Wilson and her husband Kent of Portland, his son Franco Gandolfo of Maracaibo, Venezuela and daughters Julisa Gandolfo of Tampa, FL and Elisa Harripersaud and her husband Richie of Orlando, FL, and Made Aleman and her husband Jimmy of Long Island, NY, many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
Guiseppe was predeceased by his first wife Vincenza (Struppa) Gandolfo, his brothers Antonio and Vincenzo and his sister Francesca.
His family would like to express special thanks to the staff of Salmon Brook Center in Glastonbury for their care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Lung Association, 45 Ash St. East Hartford, CT 06108-3272.
Funeral services will be Monday Feb. 4, 8AM from the New Britain Memorial-Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Avenue, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial 9AM in St. Anns Church, 101 North St. both in New Britain. Burial will be at a later date. Visiting hours at the funeral home are Sunday from 2-5PM.
