Hedwig Conlon

She was the beloved wife of the late Jim Conlon who predeceased her in 2002. Born in New Britain, CT to the late Walter & Frances (Rutkowski) Mikolajczyk. She attended local schools and was a graduate of New Britain Hospital School of Nursing in 1947. She was a dedicated Operation Room nurse at Newington Children's Hospital for 29 years, and prior to that was a nurse at the Newington VA Hospital. She moved to Southington in 2014 and became a member of St. Thomas Church. She previously lived in New Britain for most of her life and was active in the St. Francis Ladies Guild. She was a member of the New Britain Hospital Alumni Association.

She is survived by a daughter Patricia and husband Neil St. Pierre of Southington, a son James and wife Joan of Bristol, four grandchildren; Kevin and wife Kristina St. Pierre, Lauren and Shawn Bulakites, Chelsea and Tyler Agostini and Brandon Conlon, as well as five precious great grandchildren; Norah, Madison, Austin, Emma and Eliza.

She was predeceased by her five siblings, Jean Sadowski, Pauline Duszak, Bernice Finn, Eleanor Anderson and Edward Michaels. She leaves behind many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, from 8:30am until 10am at New Britain Memorial Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave., New Britain, CT 06053. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30am at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 1755 Stanley St., New Britain, CT 06053. Burial will immediately follow in St. Mary Cemetery.
