Igino Marcantonio

Igino Marcantonio, 84 of New Britain died on Friday, July 5, 2013 at the Aurora Senior Living Center. He was born in Limosano, Italy and was the son of the late Giacinto and Nunzia Marcantonio, and has lived in New Britain since 1970

He was a member of St. Ann Church and the General Ameglio Club, retired from Tuttle and Bailey and Keeney Mfg.

He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed gardening, but his greatest joy was being with his family.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 61 years, Concetta Marcantonio and five children, Nick Marcantonio of New Britain; Gino Marcantonio of Southington; Antonino Marcantonio and his wife, Elizabeth of Bristol; Nancy DiNino and her husband, Luciano of Berlin; Clelia Vanasse and her husbanded Richard of Wolcott.

He is also survived by fourteen beloved grandchildren, who were his pride and joy, Nick; Gino; Jeremy; Marc; Daniela; Gina; Daniel; Michael; Taylor; Julia; Justin; Andrew; Nicholas and Matthew and a precious great grandson, Jack.

He leaves, three brothers and two sisters, Alberto Marcantonio; Teresa Corvinelli; Giovanni Marcantonio; Antonio Marcantonio and Giuseppina Del Gobbo as well as many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be on Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at a time to be announced at the New Britain Memorial-Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Avenue New Britain.

Funeral liturgy of Christian Burial will be at St. Ann Church,101 North St., New Britain. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Friends and relatives may call on Monday July 8thh from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
