Irene Diasio, age 95, widow of Mario Diasio passed November 20, 2020 at the Watrous Nursing Center of Madison, CT after long battle with Parkinson’s disease with her family by her side. Irene was born September 21, 1925 in New Britain CT. She graduated from New Britain High School in 1942. After graduation, Irene worked at Emhart as a clerk and ended her working career at Spring & Buckley where she was respected by her working colleagues and had a great sense of humor. During her life, Irene was a long time parishioner at St. Jerome Church in New Britain and a life-long resident of New Britain. Mario and Irene wed shortly after World War II and settled in New Britain to raise their family. She was a devoted wife and mother and loved baking, crafting, and spending time with family at the beach in Westbrook, CT. She lived for her three grandchildren and a recent addition to her family, a great-granddaughter, Saylor Reginia Burk Oranzo, of Branford. Irene is survived by: her daughter, Virginia and son in law Stanley Burk, of Madison; her grandson Bryan Burk of East Haven; granddaughter Nicole Burk of Branford; grandson Jason Burk of Madison; and her brother in law, Charles Doucette of Berlin. Irene was predeceased by her two siblings Helen Wolek and Reginia Doucette.
