Ireneusz Makuch, age 74, husband of Anna Makuch, since 1968, of New Britain, passed away on February 3rd, 2020 with family by his side. Ireneusz Makuch was born February 14, 1945 in Wilkomierz, Lithuania to the late Ludwik and Antonina Makuch. He graduated and attended University of Civil Engineering in Poland. He was a parishioner of Holy Cross Church as well as an active member in the steering committee at Polish Falcons of America, located in New Britain, CT. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend who cherished time spent with family and friends. A fun loving and adventurous man with a great sense of humor, a life of a party. He loved skiing, fishing, reading books, traveling and spending time with his family and friends and making potato pancakes for his two granddaughters. He had a passion for traditional and spiritual dowsing (Radiostezja) and great thirst for the unknown and unexplained. He was an avid sport’s fan, with special interest in soccer and ski jumping, and unwavering support to Polish teams and players. In addition to his wife, Anna Makuch, he is survived and will be dearly missed by: his daughters: Malgorzata Makuch and her husband John Roderick of Rocky Hill, CT, Agnieszka Makuch and Adam Walker of Plainville, CT; his brothers: Ryszard and his wife Elizabeth Makuch of Farmington, CT and their family, Bogdan Makuch of Ilawa, Poland and his family, two grandchildren: Noelia and Olivia Roderick and many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral services will begin at 9AM on Friday, February 7, 2020, at the funeral home, followed by his Funeral Liturgy in Holy Cross Church, 31 Biruta Street, New Britain. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. The wife and daughters would like to invite all of Ireneusz’ family and friends to lunch at Crystal Ballroom at 211 Farmington Avenue, New Britain, CT, following the internment.
