Jacintha Alageswary Mohanraj, beloved wife of Dr. Navaratnasingam Mohanraj, passed away at the age of 74 in Connecticut, USA on August 20, 2026. She was born November 11, 1951 in Negombo, Sri Lanka to the late Cecilia Rasamani and Saverimuthu Anthonypillai. She was a devoted mother and mother-in-law to Drs. Amirthi Mohanraj and Kevin Whyte, Dr. Mirna Mohanraj and Gian Gandhi, and Dr. Sharmila Mohanraj. She was a loving grandmother to Kavya, Anand, Veera, Tagore, and Savreen.
In addition to her parents (New Britain, CT), she was preceded in death by her parents-in-law Regina and Navaratnasingam (Jaffna, Sri Lanka). She was a devoted sister to her siblings, and in-laws Neilia and Dr. Milroy Emmanuel, Rajitha and (late) Thirunavukkarasu Ganeshan, Benita and (late) Paul Thambiaiyah Sivakumaran, Terry and (late) Nicolas ‘Indran’ Selventhiran, Pastors Sherina and David Thiriloganathan (Canada), Marina and Joseph Thurainayagam, Nila and Rajan Anthonypillai, and Priya and Karthi Vytheswaran.
Cintha Aunty will be sorely missed by her nieces and nephews Romala, Drs. Neelmini (Sujee) and Pamela (Charlie), Adrian; Shantha and Dr. Senthilraj (Dr. Shamini); Drs. Joseph and Dharshini (Janan); Sharlini; (Tyler) Joshua (Laamina) and Zaneta (Stephen); Jehan; Ryan (Melanie), Dylan, and Serena; Ashwini and Inesh. Her love and affection will also be missed by her grandnieces and -nephews Nora, Sara, Natalia, Ryan, Stefan, Seth, and Luke.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 23rd, 2026 from 1:00 -5:00 PM

St. Francis Congregation at St. Maurice Church, 100 Wightman Rd, New Britain, CT
