James R. Kidd

James R. Kidd 65, husband of Linda (Michalski) Kidd passed away on June 15, 2026 surrounded by his family. He was born on June 17, 1960 in Middletown, CT a son of the late Charles Robert and Janice Elaine (Larson) Kidd. He served in the U.S. Army from April 1979 - December 1985 as a cannon crew member. Upon retiring from the U.S. Army, he worked for multiple employers until finally retiring from All American Waste as a driver in 2025.

James could always be found out in the garage smoking his stogie and tinkering with small engines. He also loved going camping at Nelson's Campground.

James will be so dearly missed by his wife, children and grandchildren.

In addition to his wife he is survived by three children and their spouses; Kimberly (Jason) Cassone of Berlin, Paul (Heather) Varricchio Jr. of Berlin and Melinda Varricchio of Berlin, eight grandchildren; Giada, Leona, Paige, Cameron, Adriana, Zander, Giana and Gabriella, three brothers; Jeff (Mary) Kidd of Maryland, Jon (Sal) Kidd of Georgia and Christopher Kidd of Middletown, his mother-in-law; Hanna Michalski as well as many extended family and friends.

Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Thursday, July 9 from 4-6pm. A Celebration of James' life will be at 6pm. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
