

James Raymond Zink, 85, of New Britain died peacefully on Monday, April 11th, 2011. He was born to the late Frank and Magdaline Zink on November 29, 1925. He attended area schools, graduating from New Britain High School in 1943. On October 20, 1956, he married Betty Joan Hultquist of Torrington CT.
James enlisted in the US Navy at 17 during WWII, spending 2 years in the Pacific with Seabees 13th NCB Guam. Following the war, he worked for Fafnir Bearing for 37 years and also had many other part time jobs.
James is survived by 2 children: Patricia Doak and her husband Thomas of Chester; Andrew Zink and his wife Julie of Farmington. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren: Timothy, Alexander and Lauren of Chester; Hannah and Benjamin of Farmington. He also has one surviving sister; Theresa Carino of Columbia SC and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to Visiting Nurses of Central Connecticut 205 West Main St New Britain CT.
Calling hour will be Saturday, April 16, 2011 from 10-11am with a service immediately following at New Britain Memorial/Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave. New Britain, (Directions: Exit 27 off I-84 take a right at the exit , ½ miles on your right.). Burial with military honors will be at Fairview Cemetery following the service.
