

Jan Kasica, 78, beloved husband of Zofia (Soja) Kasica, of New Britain, passed away at home on Wed., September 30, 2015 after a brief illness. Jan was born 2/24/1937 in Ranizow, Poland to the late parents of Jozef and Jadwiga Kasica. After his maternal mother died when Jan was five, he was raised by his stepmom, Ewa Kasica. Jan and Zofia left Poland to move to New Britain in 1966. Jan was employed by Stanley Works and Cold Metal Products until he retired in 2000. He worked hard and dedicated his life to providing for his family. With the help of his father, Jan built the home that his family grew up in. He was a master at building and fixing things and affectionately known as a perfectionist to those who knew him. And as he got older, he started a new hobby of raising pigeons, that he cared for, like they were his children. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons; Stanley and Wesley and his wife, Joanna, his daughter Anna Kasica, his grandchildren Gregory and Katherine and his stepsister Josephine Przybylski.
Visitation hours will begin Friday, Oct. 2, 2015 from 5 to 8 pm at the New Britain Memorial Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave,. New Britain. Funeral services will begin Saturday, Oct. 3, 2015 at 10am at the funeral home for a brief gathering, followed by his Funeral Liturgy at 11AM in Sacred Heart Church.
