Born in Portsmouth, VA to the late Micheal and Margaret (Smith) (Schenk) Haak. Jean was one of eight
siblings.
Jean worked as a paralegal most of her life until retirement, she enjoyed drawing, music and dancing,
skiing, and travel. Jean also enjoyed watching figure skating and nature programs later in life. What Jean
loved most was people, being with her friends and family, you would find her at every gathering and
usually surrounded by young ones. Jean was a spiritual mentor to young people and shared a home with
several young women until they each married. These ladies went on to have families and remained
lifelong friends, and are part Jeans family to this day.
Jean was a beloved member of the New Britain Central Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Jean
started to study the Bible at the age of eight with her Mother Margaret. Jean made the decision to
dedicate her life to Jehovah, and was baptized on Jan 30, 1960 at the age of 15. She spent the next 61
years preaching and teaching to people about Jehovah’s Kingdom, and studying the Bible with them.
This brought her the greatest joy in life.
In addition to her parents, Jean is predeceased by her Brother Clifford Schenk, Brother in law Harold
Elsbree, Brother in law Ray Wessman and Sister Renee (Haak) Wessman.
Jean is survived by, and will be dearly missed by her siblings; Marvin Haak, Roger Haak, Terry (Haak)
Elsbree, Roxanne (Haak) Rolla and Husband Danny Rolla, Tina Haak. Niece and Nephews Derick Haak,
Christina Gramz, Cody Majewski and Great Niece Jaylyn Gramz as well as her close cousin Denise
Landrie.
