

Jean B Was 93, wife of the late Norman Was passed away peacefully on Monday, August 10, 2026. She was born on February 3, 1933, in Portland, ME a daughter of the late Albert F. and Hazel (Aubin) Dansereau. Jean lived and raised her family in New Britain. She worked at A&P Grocery where she met her husband, and retired after more than 30 years of service. Jean enjoyed playing bingo, cards and board games often and occasionally going to the casino.
She is survived by two daughters; Lois and her husband John Terzak of North Carolina, Carol and her husband Kenneth Belanger of Newington, four grandchildren; Carrie Aradhye, Michelle Was, Katie Saulnier, Steven Belanger, eight great-grandchildren, a brother Roy Dansereau; a sister; Jane Larco and a daughter-in-law; Lorraine Was. She was predeceased by a son; Bryan N. Was, granddaughter; Stacey Mills, a great grandson Bryan S. Was, a brother; Jack Dansereau and two sisters; Marion Sperazza and Eleanor Wysocki.
Funeral services are incomplete at this time.
