Jill Pennell (Merlino), 75, of Berlin, CT, passed away on January 27, 2025 after a life filled with love, creativity, and a deep passion for helping others. Jill was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who left a lasting impact on all who knew her. Jill is survived by her loving husband of 11 years, Richard Pennell; daughter Michelle Drenski; grandson Cody Drenski and his wife, Nikki; as well as her cherished grandchildren Sari Centeno, Seana Centeno, and Carlos Centeno; her brothers Jim Merlino, Tom Merlino, Kenny Merlino and Vito Merlino and Richard's 6 children. She is predeceased by her parents John and Margaret (Mullen) Merlino and her brothers Hugh (Buddy) Merlino, Nick Merlino, Albert Merlino, Bill Merlino and John Merlino Jr. Known for her big heart, Jill spent much of her life crafting beautiful cards - a hobby that allowed her to share joy and encouragement with others. Her passion for creating extended beyond paper and ink; she was an avid cook, enjoyed gardening, and was a lover of Jehovah’s creation with her favorites being the elephant, hummingbird, and owl. She also found peace in the ocean and loved spending time at the beach. Jill thrived on her relationship with her Heavenly Father, Jehovah, and always made sure to share the Truth with those who would listen. Even in her final days, Jill maintained her strong will and loving nature. Her nightly routine with her husband, where he would say, "I love you," to which she would reply, "I love you too," followed by, "I love you more," and Jill would always end with, "But I love you most," is a testament to the loving and playful spirit she carried throughout.
A memorial service will be held on February 8, 2025 1PM at the Kingdom Hall Of Jehovah’s Witnesses located at 234 Farmington Avenue, Berlin, CT. The memorial service can also be accessed via Zoom:
