

He was born in West Willington , was son to the late Matthew and Helen (Zimmerman) Rudnansky and later the family moved to Stafford Springs, CT.
As a youth, Joe was a member of St. Edwards Church in Stafford Springs. He graduated from St. Edwards Catholic School and from Stafford Springs High School with honors. After school he was drafted into the US Navy. He served on the LST 641 as a Petty Officer 2nd Class Gunners Mate during WWII and was involved in the Battle of Iwo Jima. After the war he worked at Pratt & Whitney for 37 years as a computer analyst and where he was also member of its Men’s Club.
Joe enjoyed landscaping his yard, TV, movies, especially westerns; reading and playing cards with his family. Joe was also a parishioner of St. Francis of Assisi Church, New Britain. He was also predeceased by a sister, Bertha Rudnansky.
Joe is survived and will be greatly missed by; his wife of 62 years, Emily (Malina) and four daughters; Patricia Rudnansky of New Britain, Linda Secor and her husband Larry or Northford, CT, Laurie Rudnansky of New Britain, Sharon Babin and her husband Roland of New Britain. His two precious grandsons; Eric Secor and his fiancé Julia Pond of Dover, NH and Kevin Secor of Northford,CT, his sister, Julia Krupa of Rockville, two brother in laws: Henry Malina of New Britain and Edward Malina of CA and several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank his nurses from the VNA and Hospice for all their compassionate care.
Funeral services will begin Friday, March 22, 2013 at 9:00am at the New Britain Memorial Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave., New Britain followed by the funeral liturgy at 10:00am in St. Francis of Assisi Church. Burial with full military honors will follow in St. Mary Cemetery.
