Josephine (Krawiec) Mucha, 98, of New Britain, beloved wife of 60 years to the late Joseph J. Mucha, passed away peacefully on Sunday May 6, 2018. She was born on May 31st, 1919 in Deep River, CT to the late Jan and Maryanna (Grief) Krawiec and moved to New Britain where Joseph and she raised their family. She was a parishioner of Holy Cross Church and was a member of the Holy Cross Ladies Guild. The love of her family was everything to her and she especially enjoyed summers at the Connecticut shore and Cape Cod with them. Josephine was an avid UCONN Women’s basketball fan as well as an excellent baker and cook. She is survived by her sons Joseph (Patricia) Mucha of South Yarmouth, MA. and Phillip (Dorothy) Mucha of Avon and six grandchildren Keith Joseph Mucha, Christopher Jon Mucha, Maureen Ellen (David) Monroe, Jon-Paul (Heather) Mucha, Brian Joseph (Linda) Mucha and Jennifer Jo Bassett; and also six great grandchildren Marisa Mae, Adam, Alyssa Raven, Dylan, Leah Michelle and Katarina Renee. She was also predeceased by her son John Mucha and her two brothers Stanley & Joseph Krawiec. Her funeral procession will leave the New Britain Memorial-Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Avenue, Wednesday morning May 9th at 9:30am. Family and friends may visit from 8:30-9:30 am. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in Holy Cross Church, New Britain at 10:00am. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, New Britain. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made in Josephine’s memory to the Archbishop’s Annual Appeal in Hartford.
