Josephine Ribes, loving wife of Vincent Ribes for 68 wonderful years, passed away unexpectedly on December 29, 2022. Daughter to the late James and Anna Urso, Josephine was born in New Britain and raised her family in the area.
She absolutely loved her husband and enjoyed spending time at their beach and Florida homes. She loved to cook for her family - always trying new recipes. Watching hummingbirds, doing puzzles, and reading were also fun pastimes.
Devoted to her Catholic faith, she was our comfort and strength through good times and bad. We will always be grateful and blessed to have her in our thoughts and hearts forever.
Josephine worked for the draft board and the State of Connecticut, Comptroller’s Office. She is survived by and will be deeply missed by, her husband, Vincent Ribes, her daughters: Joanne Stula and her husband Charles, Karen Ribes, Nancy Ribes, and Rose Do Carmo; her brother James Urso and his wife Colette, and several nephews and nieces.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at St. Ann’s Church, North Street, New Britain at 10:30am. Remember me in quiet days, while raindrops whisper on your pane.
Remember in your memories have no grief, let the joy we knew remain.
Remember me if once you wake, to catch a glimpse of red sunrise.
Remember when your thoughts do turn to me, know that I would not have you cry, but live for me, and laugh for me.
When you are happy so am I.
Remember an old joke we shared.
Remember me when spring walks by.
Think once of me when you are glad
And while you live, I shall not die!
