

Jozef Dylag 88 of New Britain died peacefully on Saturday, February 18, 2012. He was born in Gdow (Wolka Zreczycka) Poland in 1924. During WWII he was taken to work in German labor work camps in Poland. He then worked as a labor civilian for the US Army as a cook in Germany. He immigrated to the US in 1956, 1963 returned to Poland, where he married Maria Zdnowska. They both returned to the US and made their home in New Britain. Jozef became a Naturalized US citizen 1969.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Church and Polish Falcons, Nest #88. He was the former owner of Blaze’s Café on Broad Street, New Britain for over 20 years.
He was predeceased by his wife, Maria (Zdnowska) Dylag and is survived by his devoted children, Yolanda Pucinski and her husband Marc Pucinski with whom he made his home and Peter Dylag and his wife Tracey of South Windsor. He is also survived by his two grandsons Sean and Aaron Dylag whom he loved and adored deeply.
He leaves behind 3 sisters, 2 brothers, several niecesand nephews in Poland, Norway and Maine.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 23, 2012 8:30am at the New Britain Memorial Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave., New Britain, followed by the funeral liturgy at 9:30am in Sacred Heart Church. Burial will follow in Fairview .
