

Julianna Cecilia Zysek of New Britain, Connecticut passed away on September 15th, 2023 at the age of 99. She was born in Poland where she grew up in Bydgoszcz. She was married for 49 years to Jan Zysek and is descended from the Gawlik family. Some of her passions were gardening, cooking, baking, sewing, knitting, health and fitness, and alternative medicine. She was a devout catholic and longtime member of Sacred Heart Church as well as a choir member. She was a true inspiration, having survived the WWII Nazi occupation at 20 years old; losing a father and then bearing a beautiful daughter as well as two sets of twins. After arriving to America, her early years were spent working at Atlantic Machine Tool Works.
She was actively involved in her church, choir and community. She loved to entertain and celebrate with her family and friends. She was preceded by her husband Jan Zysek, and her many siblings. She is survived by her five children: Theresa Cudzilo, Richard Zysek and partner Maryanne Ruffino, Remigiusz Zysek and wife Margaret Zysek, Mari May and Brian Cote, Diane Pekarovic and her sister Bronislawa.
Grandchildren; Bogdan and Martin Cudzilo, Patryk, Joanna, and Julian Zysek, Jonathan and Elizabeth May. Great grandchildren; Janina and Lucas, and great great grandchild Noe.
Calling Hours will be held on Friday September 29, 2023, from 4PM-7PM. Funeral Liturgy will be held on Saturday September 30, 2023 at 9:30AM at Sacred Heart Church 158 Broad St. New Britain, CT. Burial will take place Saturday September 30, 2023 10:30AM at Sacred Heart Cemetery 662 Burritt St. New Britain.
