Katarzyna Plewa, 59, wife of Krzysztof Plewa, since 1981 of Plainville, CT, passed away unexpectedly on June 6, 2019 at New Britain Hospital, after a battle with cancer with family by her side. Katarzyna was born October 31, 1959 in Nowy Targ, Poland to the late Stanislawa and Jozef Bednarski previously residing in Wielun, Poland, before settling in Plainville, CT. She graduated and attended Liceum Ogolnoksztalcace in Nowy Targ. Mrs. Katarzyna was employed by Ingraham Manor. She was a parishioner of St. Stanislaw Church. She married Krzysztof Plewa and they made their home in Wielun, Poland for 25 years before moving to the United States, and then settling in Plainville, CT. Katarzyna and Krzysztof decided to move to the United States in their early 40s to create a new life and provide opportunities for their children. Katarzyna was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who cherished time spent with family. In addition to raising their children, she maintained her career as a Certified Nursing Aid for over 10 years. She was deeply appreciated and loved by the residents she took care of, as she always was warm and kind to people. A light hearted woman, she had a loving and gentle nature with a great sense of humor. Talented in crocheting and crafts, she would crochet gifts for her family and friends. She was an avid animal lover, enjoyed baking, gardening, long walks at the beach and traveling. Her favorite place was Florida. She loved hot sunny days and walking along the beach for hours with her beloved husband Krzysztof. In her later years, she developed a passion for writing. She enjoyed being social and spent time with friends and family. She will be most remembered for her big heart, beautiful contagious smile and caring generous nature. In addition to her husband, Krzysztof Plewa, she is survived and will be dearly missed by: sons Mariusz Plewa and his wife Agnieszka Filipowicz and their daughter Vanessa of Plainville, CT, Slawomir Plewa and his wife Katarzyna Plewa, son Dominik of Bristol, CT, daughter: Agnieszka Plewa of New Britain. Her sisters: Maria Jandura of Chicago, Illinois, Janina Janiszewska of Chicago, Illinois. Brothers Stanislaw Bednarski and his wife Irena Bednarska of Poland, Andrzej Bednarski of Poland. Her precious grandchildren: Vanessa Plewa and Dominik Plewa. Her Special pets: Coco Chanel, Xena, and Pluto. Katarzyna was also predeceased by: Janina Plewa. The Plewa family would like to express their deep gratitude to all the people who were supporting us emotionally with their many acts of kindness during her illness. Funeral services will begin June 10th, 2019 at 8:30 am, at New Britain Memorial Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave., New Britain, followed by her Funeral Liturgy at 9:30 am in Sacred Heart Church. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visitation hours will be from 1pm-3pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers or Memorial donations in her memory may also be to Krzysztof Plewa.
