

Kazimiera “Kazia” (Kirejczyk) Kulak of New Britain passed away peacefully on Thursday November 18, 2010 surrounded by her loving family after an extended and courageous battle with brain tumors. She was predeceased by her husband of 47 years, Mieczyslaw Kulak, in 2005. Kazia was born in Poland on May 18, 1937 to Stefania (Rutkowska) and Jozef Kirejczyk. She and her husband moved to New Britain in 1965. She was formerly employed by Heublein and was a lifelong member of Holy Cross Church. Her greatest joys were raising her children and spending time with her cherished grandchildren. Kazia was happiest when surrounded by her family. She enjoyed singing, cooking, tending to her vegetable gardens and spending summer days with family and friends at the beaches of the Connecticut shoreline, at Amston Lake and at the lake house in Wales, Mass.
She is survived by her three children; daughter, Barbara Bowling and husband Michael of Plainville, her son, Robert Kulak and wife Karen of Southington, and her daughter, Jola Wilhelm and husband Joseph of Haddam, three grandchildren; Katelyn and Elizabeth Bowling and Colin Wilhelm as well as her brother, Stanislaw Kirejczyk of New Britain. Kazimiera also leaves behind cherished family and devoted friends. She was predeceased by her brothers; Henryk, Kazimierz and Czeslaw Kirejczyk and her sisters; Marianna Jackiewicz and Teresa Lawrynowicz.

Funeral services will begin Tuesday, November 23, 2010 at 9:00am at the New Britain Memorial Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave. New Britain, followed by the Funeral Liturgy at 10:00am in Holy Cross Church. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
