Lawrence C. Campbell, 65 of New Britain passed away peacefully at the Hospital of Central CT on Friday, June 13, 2014 after a brief illness. Born, March 31, 1949, in Bangor, Maine, one of twin sons of Aubrey R. Campbell , Sr. and Arlene V. McDonald Campbell. After completing high school education, Larry enlisted in the Marines and served his country proudly during the Vietnam era, Sept. 1968 through Sept. 1972, After 29 years of service with the CT Natural Gas Co., where he was employed as a crew chief and more recently as a regular technician, he had plans to retire in April of 2015. Larry was proud of his Maine heritage and returned every fall with his wife Mary for what he called the “annual pilgrimage”. Along with his wife, they enjoyed many trips to beautiful Aruba as well as destinations across the USA, but was always happy to return home to the “boys”. As an avid Red Sox, Giants and Nascar fan, he loved to harass his friends who were fans of opposing teams and he’d always seemed to have to get that last little dig in. Larry was also a lifetime member of the VFW Post 511, and of the Elks Lodge 957 as well as a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Parish, where he served as an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion and an Altar Server. Larry leaves his wife of 20 years, Mary A. (Cisowski) Campbell, son, Bryan J. Campbell, of Danville, New Hampshire, daughter, Jennifer E. Campbell, of Minneola, Florida, four grandchildren, Kyle J. I am so sad to hear about Larry! My sympathy to the family. I knew Larry from Healtrax, his home away from home. In spin class we played 2 songs for him, "Jim Dandy" and "Play at the gym all day" He was so engaging, always talking about Mary, his puppies, his official Marine sneakers. I will always remeber Larry as a kind and very funny man. He will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Beth Lurate

Where do I begin? We hit it off right away. Making fun of life, talking hours of our youth, kids, accomplishments. And then he talked me into the dogs. He however went times 3. Lol. Loved his laugh and his great sense of humor! I will miss him dearly! What a wonderful, warm, kind hearted soul. Mary and family you are in my thoughts and prayers. He talked highly of all of you! XO Larry. Love Sandi Solsky, Rocky Hill, Ct.
