

Lillian (Drozd) Salerno, 86, widow of Salvatore J. Salerno since 1992, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Saturday, May 4, 2013. Lillian was born in New Britain and was daughter to the late Franciszek and Theodora (Sczepanski) Drozd and was a lifetime resident. She had been employed by the State of Connecticut, retiring in 1997 and had been a past president of the Holy Cross Ladies Guild.
Lillian enjoyed the theatre arts, gardening and was an avid Red Sox fan. She had a generous heart, an intuitive spirit and always put her best foot forward. She will be truly missed forever.
A devoted mother and grandmother, she is survived and will be dearly missed by her children; John Salerno and fiancé Carol Malloy of East Berlin, Daniel and Marianne Salerno , James Salerno and Laura Salerno, all of New Britain, her sweet grandchildren: Grace, Kayla, Dena and Faith and several nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by two sisters: Adele and Irene.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at 9:00am at the New Britain Memorial Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave. New Britain followed by the funeral liturgy at 10:00am in Holy Cross Church and burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
