Lydia Christine Lavoie (Samulis), 58, of Vernon, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, December 4, 2025. She was born on February 8, 1967 in New Haven, CT to John Casimir and Akvalina (Dalangauskas) Samulis, who fled their home country of Lithuania during World War II.
Lydia was a kind hearted, compassionate woman who loved deeply. In keeping with Lydia's giving nature she made the gift of life possible through organ, eye, and tissue donation. She took great pride in her Lithuanian heritage. She loved rocking out to Fleetwood Mac, Stevie Nicks, Tom Petty, and Led Zeppelin just to name a few. Her favorite foods were pizza, burgers, and “bunny food.” She loved the moon and the color purple. Spending time with her children, grandchildren, family and friends was of the utmost importance to her. “The clouds never expect it when it rains, But the sea changes color but the sea does not change.”
