Marie (Ferrara) DiDonno, age 93, widow of Andrew (Andy) DiDonno passed away peacefully surrounded by family on June 22nd, 2017. Marie was born on December 18, 1923 to the late Rocco and Catherine (Squillacote) Ferrara. Marie is predeceased by her sister Florence (Ferrara) DiDonno, and her brother Joseph Ferrara, and survived by her brother Rocco Jr. and his wife Mary Rose Ferrara as well as her brother-in-law Vito DiDonno. Marie lived in New Britain where she, and her husband of 69 years, lovingly raised her four children, and helped care for her parents, siblings, nieces, nephews, neighbors and members of the community for as long as she was able to do so. She graduated from New Britain High School and although she held a few jobs none was more important to her than that of “Mother”. She was a parishioner of Saint Francis of Assisi Church where she practiced her faith and deep devotion to God. Her love of birds and flowers was only surpassed by her love of family. She will be most remembered for her selflessness and giving heart. She will be forever missed by her son and daughter-in-law Robert and Patricia DiDonno, her daughters and son-in-law’s, Andrea and Michael Woronick, Catherine and Paul Nichols, and Mary and Robert Petzold. Her grandchildren, Elaine (DiDonno) and Jason Christian, Monica (Woronick) and Alessandro Pepe, Erica (Guzzardi) and Michael Schaedler, Jeffrey Woronick, Lorraine Valente, Dominic Valente, Danielle Guzzardi, Heather Petzold, and great grandchildren Evan, Jarren, Bryce, and Brynn Christian, will forever hold her in their hearts. A special thanks to Ledgecrest Health Care Center and the wonderful caregivers who had become her second family.
