Obituary of Mario John Caggiano
Mario John Caggiano, age 88, of New Britain, CT passed away peacefully on May 3, 2022 surrounded by his family. Born on August 5, 1933 in Buonalbergo, Italy, he was the son of the late Filomeno and Maria Caggiano. Immigrating to the United States in his early teenage years, Mario graduated from New Britain High School, and went on to pursue higher education. Mario made a career with the City of New Britain, where he proudly worked for 48 years in the engineering department. Mario is predeceased by his parents, and his brother Antonio Caggiano and sister Emma Caggiano (Malusardi), both of Italy. Survived by his loving wife Immacolata (Tina) Caggiano, daughter Maria Caggiano Cammuso of New Britain, brother James Caggiano of Trumbull, and nephew James Caggiano and his wife Andrea Caggiano and their two children Regina and Anthony of Massachusetts, and niece Laura Patterson of Trumbull. Lastly, Mario is survived by his two beautiful grandchildren: Joseph Cammuso and Amanda Cammuso, both of New Britain. The Caggiano family would like to extend its deepest gratitude to the Chief Medical Oncologist of UConn healthcare, Dr. Upendra P. Hegde, and the entire UConn oncology team. Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, May 9, 2022 at St. Francis of Assisi Church, Stanley St, New Britain at 10:30am. Interment services will immediately follow at St. Mary Cemetery, Stanley St, New Britain. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Francis of Assisi Church. New Britain Memorial & Donald D.
