Mariusz Puckowski, age 55, of Stuart, Florida, passed away peacefully on October 21, 2026, following a brief illness. Born on March 20, 1971, in Bialystok, Poland, he was the beloved son of Janina Puckowska and Jozef Puckowski. In 1987 He left Poland and lived in New Britain Connecticut and later in Berlin in the same state until He moved to Florida in the year of 2013.
Mariusz’s life was defined by hard work, a deep love for his family, and an undeniable draw to the water. He embarked on a remarkable 30-year maritime career, beginning his journey as a resilient fisherman on a scallop boat in the demanding waters of New Bedford, Massachusetts. Through sheer grit, dedication, and a natural instinct for the ocean, he proudly worked his way up the ranks to Mate, and eventually, to Captain. Seven years ago, he brought his incredible work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit to the Sunshine State, successfully launching and running his own business in Stuart, Florida.
A man with an infectious zest for life, Mariusz found his true paradise in the Florida sun. He spent his happiest hours on the water, boating, jet skiing, fishing, and simply enjoying the beach. He was also a passionate traveler who loved exploring the United States and the world, holding a special fondness for the vibrant cultures and beautiful shores of Spain and the Bahamas.
Mariusz had a vibrant personality and was the heart of any gathering. He had an appreciation for good food, and an even greater appreciation for a good dessert. He loved to entertain his family, filling their home with beautiful music he played on the piano. A man who never took himself too seriously, he was always ready with a good joke and a warm, boisterous laugh that could light up a room.
Beyond his love for the sea and music, Mariusz was an avid collector with a keen eye for the past. He truly enjoyed the thrill of finding antiques, spending his weekends scouring estate sales, antique shops, and flea markets for hidden treasures. He loved the history and craftsmanship behind vintage pieces, especially nautical artifacts that spoke to his maritime soul, and unique clocks or furniture that carried a rich story. To Mariusz, antiquing wasn't just a hobby; it was a treasure hunt that connected him to different eras and places.
Family meant everything to Mariusz. He leaves behind his devoted wife of 25 years, Maria, and his stepson, Filip; his loving daughter, Samantha, and his cherished grandson, Julian; his sister, Dorota; his brother, Grzegorz, and sister-in-law, Marzena; his niece, Caroline; and his nephews, Daniel, Stephon, and Isayah. His immense capacity for love also extended to his furry companions; he will be deeply missed by his two dogs, Reksio and Rocco. His family takes great comfort in knowing that he is now joyfully reunited with his favorite and beloved dog, Coco, who passed away in 2021.
