

Mary (DiMugno) Coppola, 91, wife of the late James Coppola passed away on Wednesday, September 12, 2012 with her Mary (DiMugno) Coppola, 91, wife of the late James Coppola passed away on Wednesday, September 12, 2012 with her beloved daughter and son-in-law by her side. She was the daughter of the late, Stefano and Clementine (Panella) DiMugno. Mary was born in Pontecorvo, Italy. She came to the US when she was 11 years old and attended Berlin schools. During the war, she was employed at New Britain Machine as one of the few female machine operators. She was later employed at American Bazaar in New Britain where she worked for 50 years. She retired in 1991 as a floor supervisor. She is survived by her loving and devoted daughter and son in law, Donna and Paul DiBenedetto. She was predeceased by her husband, James and five siblings, Lucy Ruscio, Lizette Ruscito, Anthony, Victor and John DiMugno. Mary was a member of the Italian Jr. League, the Newington Women's Auxiliary Fire Dept. and the Women's Guild of Holy Spirit church.She was a world traveler, a Yankees Fan and an avid UCONN Women's Basketball fan. She also enjoyed frequenting gambling casinos around the world. She will be dearly missed by everyone whose heart she touched especially by her daughter Donna and son in law, Paul.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 17, 2012 at 9 a.m. at the New Britain Memorial Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave., New Britain. Followed by the funeral liturgy at 10 a.m. at the Holy Spirit Church, Newington, Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, New Britain.
