Mary R. Rooney

She was born in New Britain, on April 9, 1929. She was a lifelong resident of New Britain and a graduate of New Britain High School. Mary was a member of St. Ann's Church and retired from CCSU.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Donald J. Rooney, son Donald J. Rooney Jr. and his wife Sandra all of New Britain. She is also survived by a brother Charles Calderone and his wife Eileen of Berlin.

Mary enjoyed music, especially playing the piano for family and friends and dancing with her husband. She cherished her many visits with friends and family gatherings.

Funeral Services will be on Monday, June 9, 2014 at 9:15 AM at the New Britain Memorial Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave. New Britain followed by the funeral liturgy at 10:00 AM at St. Ann's Church. Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery.

Calling hours will be on Sunday, June 8, 2014 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM, at New Britain Memorial Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave. New Britain (Directions, I-84 take a right at the exit, 1 ½ miles on your right.) In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Good Live Center at The Hospital of Central CT.
