

Mary J. (Charni) Rund, 91, widow of Charles J. Rund Sr. since 1979, of Plainville, passed away on Thursday, August 25, 2011 at home, with her family by her side, after a long illness. Mary was born in New Britain and was daughter to the late John and Mari (Demjan) Charni and had resided in Plainville for 62 years and the last 5 has lived with her daughter Bernadette and son in law James R. Pavano Jr. She is survived and will be dearly missed by her family, her sons: Charles J. Rund Jr. and his wife Maureen of Watertown, William Rund and his wife Barbara of Chester, Robert Tinti and his wife Karlen of Union Hill, VA; her daughters: Barbara Roussel, Marie Ferrante, Bernadette Pavano and her husband James and Claudia Piotrowski and her husband Richard, all of Plainville, her sister Pauline Palmero, a brother Michael Charny, her ten grandchildren: Dean Roussel, Deena Williams, Lori Mele, Charles Rund, Mary Huff, Andrew Cambo, Damen Rund, Richard Piotrowski, Courtney Piotrowski and step granddaughter Lisa Redvers; her precious great grandchildren: Dean Roussel II, Connor, Rachel, Aaron, Jeffrey, Timothy and Abigail Mele, Madeline, Alexa and Ashley Huff, Thalen Cambo, Nicholas and Brennan Rund and step great grandchildren: Jacob and Seth Dunphy and step granddaughter Rachel Grande, several nieces and nephews and family in Europe. Mary was also predeceased by a sister, Ena Charni, three brothers; John Carney, George and Joseph Charni, grandson William Rund and granddaughter, Charleen Rund.
Visitation service will begin Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at 10am at the New Britain Memorial Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave., New Britain, followed by a Prayer Service at 11am, officiated by Deacon Michael Rubitz. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain.
