Mildred (Adams) Nelson, 92, of New Britain, widow of her beloved husband Charles William Nelson, passed away peacefully on Sunday (October 11, 2015) to once again reunite with her husband Charlie in heaven.
She was born in New York, to the late Paul and Marie (Baldiswieler) Adams, moved to Branford and then West Hartford where she met the love of her life. She attended Hall High School and was a Veteran of WWII serving her country in the US Navy stationed in Washington DC.

She also had a great passion and devotion to animals, rescued many and was a second mother to many of the neighborhood children from Alexander Road where she and dad lived for many years.

Nelson Jr. and his wife Zoe (Marinelli) of Mass; Richard A. Nelson and his wife Jane (Day) of Torrington; Robert J. Nelson and his wife Veronika of New Mexico; and Stephen C. Nelson of Burlington; seven grandchildren; a sister Elynore Perry of Unionville; and several nieces and nephews.
