Pamela Gail Giarratana

Pamela was born on February 15, 1950, in Hartford, CT, and grew up in Newington. She graduated from Newington High School in 1968 and went on to earn her Executive Secretarial degree from Morse College in Hartford in 1970. She worked as an executive secretary at Security Insurance for five years before stepping into the role of a dedicated stay-at-home mom. Later, Pamela worked at New Britain Candy Company until her retirement.

A lover of travel, Pamela enjoyed going on cruises and exploring new destinations with Carmen and close friends. After his passing Pam spent her time working outside in her gardens, going to the park with her Dunkin coffee and watching a good episode of NCIS. Her family was always a top priority, and she was there for them whenever they needed her. She always enjoyed the time she spent with her grandchildren. Pamela was a devoted caregiver to her mother, Hilda, for many years, sharing this responsibility with her sisters.

Pamela leaves behind her son, John Giarratana, and his wife, Erica Bayly; her daughter, Lisa Lichniak, and her husband, Przemyslaw Lichniak; and her beloved companion, Nysha the kitty. She is also survived by her siblings: Pat Jaeger and her husband, Gary Fox; John Jaeger; Heidi Jameson and her husband, Gary Jameson; Mark Jaeger and his wife, Lynda Jaeger; and her brother-in-law, Mike Endy. She was predeceased by her father, Hans Frank Jaeger; her mother, Hilda (Sheltra) Jaeger; her brother, Stephen Jaeger; and her sister, Sharon Endy.

Pamela's memory lives on through her five grandchildren: Henry (Frankie) Lichniak, Sophia Lichniak, Charles Giarratana, Lydia Giarratana, and Owen Giarratana. She will also be fondly remembered by her nieces and nephews: Gary Jameson Jr., Meaghan Jameson, Gregg Jameson, Jessie Jaeger, and Trudee Frazier.

Pamela’s kindness, strength, and love for her family will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A Celebration of Pamela's life will be held on Tuesday, February 25 from 11am-12pm with a remembrance at 12noon at New Britain Memorial-Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave., New Britain, CT. Burial will follow at West Meadow Cemetery, 679 Willard Ave., Newington, CT.
