

He was drafted into WWII with the TX-OK 90th Division and was in the Battle of the Bulge, Hedgerow and D-Day at Normandy Beach. Percy was a lifelong VFW member. He returned to CT and met Mary Doucette at Fafnir Bearing where they both retired in 1985.
Percy’s passion was art and he taught and promoted oil painting in CT. He served as acting president in Kensington Art League and won awards for his work from galleries and Tunxis Community College where he attended classes. Percy enjoyed bowling at Plainville’s Laurel Lanes, going to the beach, casino, music and his family. He spread cheer wherever he went and loved to make people laugh.
Percy is survived and will be dearly missed by; his wife Mary of 67 years, his two daughters Maureen Thompson, Sandra Murawski and her husband Walter, his two grandchildren: Amanda Bochenek and Evan Luca, his two sisters, Myrtle Allen of FL, and Irene Gignac of Montreal, three great grandchildren; Alexander Aldea, Amare Shelton and Alyssa Shelton and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will begin Friday, May 16, 2014 at 10AM from New Britain Memorial Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave., New Britain followed by the funeral liturgy at 11AM in St. Jerome Church, 1010 Slater Road, New Britain. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, 1411 Stanley Street, New Britain, CT. Visitation hours will be Thursday, May 15, 2014 from 6-8pm at the funeral home.
