Rev. Stanley J. Sikora

The Reverend Stanley J. Sikora, 82, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 21, 2013, at Saint Thomas Seminary, Bloomfield. He was born on October 29, 1930, in New Britain, to the late Adam and Ewa (Puzio) Sikora. He was predeceased by two brothers and two sisters, and is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Father Sikora was a graduate of New Britain High School, Saint Thomas Seminary in Bloomfield, and Saint Mary’s Seminary in Baltimore, Maryland. He was ordained May 25, 1957, in Saint Lawrence O’Toole Church, Hartford, by the Most Reverend Henry J. O’Brien, Archbishop of Hartford. Father Sikora served as Assistant Pastor at Blessed Sacrament Church, Waterbury, SS. Cyril & Methodius Church, Hartford, Saint Casimir Church, Terryville, Saint Stanislaus Church, Bristol, Sacred Heart Church, New Britain, Saint Jerome Church, New Britain, and Saint Mary Church, Milford. On August 2, 1993, Father Sikora was appointed Administrator of Saint Stanislaus Church, Waterbury.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Most Reverend Henry J. Mansell, Archbishop of Hartford, on Wednesday, June 26, 2013, in Sacred Heart Church, 158 Broad Street, New Britain, at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, New Britain. The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, June 26, 2013, in the Church from 9:30 a.m. -10:30 a.m. New Britain Memorial/Donald D.
