Richard Federowicz

Richard J. Federowicz, 65 of Plainville, CT passed away unexpectedly on Monday December 5th, 2011. He joins his soul mate and beloved wife, Marguerite (Grieco) Federowicz, who predeceased him on March 11, 2004. He was born in New Britain and was the son of the late Frank and Gladys (Gladky) Federowicz and brother of the late Theodore Federowicz. He attended Goodwin Tech and was a graduate of the University of Hartford where he studied electrical engineering. Rich is survived by his three sons and spouses, Scott and Kathryn Federowicz of Bristol, Derek and Lisa Federowicz of Vernon, Brett Federowicz and Jessica Dumais of Berlin. He leaves behind his eight beloved grandchildren who were the pride and joy of his life, Zachary, Owen, Jacob, William, Emma, Adam, Joshua, and Noah. Rich could always be seen at his grandchildren’s activities especially on the sidelines of many soccer games. He also leaves behind two nieces, Donna and Debbie, and his loving companion Maureen Shortoff.

Rich was employed by InfoTech Enterprises based in East Hartford where he worked on site at Pratt and Whitney as a Network Engineer. He was about to start his 35th year as a high school basketball referee as a member of the Central Connecticut Board 6. He was an avid sports fan and former Little League baseball coach and soccer coach in the Town of Plainville. He was a member of St. Matthew’s Church in Forestville, CT.

Funeral Services will be on Monday, December 12th, 2011 at 10:00am at St. Matthew Church 120 Church Ave. Bristol, CT. Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Plainville, CT. Calling hours will be on Sunday, December 11th from 1:00 to 5:00pm at the New Britain Memorial & Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave. New Britain, CT. Direction: Exit 37 off I-84 take a right at the exit 1 ½ miles on your right.
