Robert Furdas, 72, of New Britain, passed away on Thursday, August 6, 2015 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on February 24, 1943 in Moselle, France, son of the late Harry and Anna (Pasternak) Furdas. Bob proudly served in the United States Marine Corps from 1962-1966 during the Vietnam War.
Bob enjoyed fishing and hunting in his younger years. He also enjoyed woodworking and making beautiful cabinets and other items. He was an avid NY Yankees and UConn Basketball fan. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather who will be forever cherished in our hearts and memories.
He will be dearly missed by his wife of 48 years, Sharon (Butkiewicz) Furdas, daughter Patricia F. Mokritski and her husband Kenneth of Newington, grandson Robert A. Garbalosa of North Haven, granddaughter Ashley A. Garbalosa and her fiancé Corey W. Simpson of New Britain and grandson Matthew S. Mokritski of Santa Rosa, CA.
