Robert "Bobby" M. Kowal, 36, of New Britain, died unexpectedly on Sunday, (April 24, 2011.) He was born in Springfield, MA and has lived in New Britain for most of his life. He was the son of Christine (Tanski) Kowal of Meriden and the late, Bogdan K. Kowal. Robert attended local schools and was a graduate of NBHS; he was a loving son, husband, father, brother and friend. He was always the first to help anyone in need; he had a great sense of humor and had a way of making everyone smile. Bobby will be forever remembered and missed by his family and friends. Besides his mother, Christine and Zdzisiek, whom he considered as a father, he is survived by his loving wife, Izabela (Andruszkiewicz) Kowal, his beloved son, Tyler, his sister, Suzanne Kowal and her husband, Stephen Angelillo of Newington. He is also survived by his paternal grandmother, Jane Kowal of RI, his niece, Madison Jane Angelillo, many aunts, uncles and cousins. He is also survived by his in laws Jerzy and Celina Andruszkiewicz, a sister in law, Agnes Beldzinski and her sons, David and Adrian. Funeral service will be Friday, April 29, 2011 at 8:30 a.m. at the New Britain Memorial & Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave. New Britain (directions: I-84, right off #37, 1 1/2 miles on right) followed by the funeral liturgy at 9:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, New Britain. Calling hours will be Thursday, April 28 from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
