

Rosa (Pitruzzello) Rigano, 88, widow of Carmelo Rigano of New Britain and formerly of Deltona, Fl, passed away on Sun. March 16, 2014 at the Andrew House, New Britain. Rosa was born May 16, 1925 in Melilli, Sicily, Italy and was daughter to the late Vincenzo and Angela (Perruccio) Pitruzzello. She had worked as a seamstress most of her life and was a parishioner of St. Ann Church.
She is survived and will be missed by; her three children, Nancy Castellano of Deltona, Fl, Nella D'Arena and her husband Paul of New Britain and Joseph Rigano and his wife Lina of Middletown; her sister in law, Concetta Petruzzello of Middletown, her precious nine grandchildren: Angela D'Arena, Alfredo D'Arena, Carmelo D'Arena and Rosa D'Arena, Carmelo Rigano, Rosa Fazzina, Sebastian Rigano, Joseph Rigano and Melissa Castellano, fifteen sweet great grandchildren; Joseph, Dario, Devin, Dante, Domenic, Gabriella, Olivia, Sophia and Brianna Rigano, Julia and Sebastian Fazzino, Alessandro, Gianna Ariella and Andrea D'Arena and many nieces and nephews.
She was also predeceased by: four sisters; Anna Linoci, Rosaria Pizzo, Lucia Fargione, Giuseppina Termene and two brothers; Sebastiano Pitruzzello and Nicola Pitruzzello and son in law, John Castellano.
Funeral services will begin Friday, March 21, 2014 at 9AM at New Britain Memorial Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave., New Britain, followed by the funeral liturgy at 10AM in St. Ann Church. Burial will be held in Florida. Visitation hours will be Thursday, March 20, 2014 from 5-7pm at the funeral home. The family would like to thank The Andrew House for taking good care of Rosa and making her final days with us comfortable.
