Rosario J. Lombardo, 100, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 2, 2025,. He was born September 19, 1924 in New Britain a son of the late Emanuele and Anna Lombardo. He proudly served his country in the Army during World War II and received the Bronze Star. Rosie retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 1984. He was a parishioner of St. Ann Church where in his younger years he participated in the Passion Play. He loved to travel, fencing in his younger years, gardening and golfing. Rosie enjoyed his Wednesday morning breakfast with his very close friends.
He is survived by his closest cousin Richard Ronzello and family whom he spent all holidays and special occasions with.
Relatives and friends may call at New Britain Memorial-Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave., New Britain on Thursday, August 7, 2025 from 9-11am. A funeral service will follow at 11am at the funeral home. Burial with Military Honors will follow at St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain.
