

Salvatore Melluzzo, 92, passed away December 11, 2020 after a short illness. Born in Canicattini Bagni, Sicily to the late Giuseppe and Filomena (Cianci) Melluzzo, Salvatore moved to the United States in 1971 where he settled in New Britain, and later Farmington where he lived for 25 years. Salvatore married the love of his life, Rosa in 1954 and went on to raise his four beloved children. Salvatore brought many talents with him from Sicily, including an ability to be incredibly self-sufficient with his several vegetable gardens. Salvatore loved to spend summer weekends at the lake with his family. It was a great joy to spend the day on the boat fishing with his grandkids. He loved making homemade bread and pizza, all while sipping some of his homemade wine. Salvatore will be remembered as an animated storyteller who’s eyes would simply light up when he saw his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Salvatore’s family will be his legacy, and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. In addition to his parents, Salvatore is predeceased by: his brothers Paolo and Giuseppe Melluzzo; and his sisters: Sebastiana Mangiafico and Concetta Durastante. In addition to the love of his life and beloved wife of 66 years, Rosa (Campisi) Melluzzo, he is survived by his children: Filomena Lazicki, of Cromwell; Giuseppe and his wife Debra of Unionville; Luciano and his wife Susan, of New Britain; and Adriano and his wife April of Farmington; his twelve grandchildren: Melissa D’Agostino, Rosa Melluzzo, Salvatore Melluzzo, Sylvia Fuller, Sergio Melluzzo, David Lazicki, Nicholas Melluzzo, Anthony Melluzzo, Rachel Melluzzo, Alexander Melluzzo, Marisa Melluzzo, and Matthew Melluzzo; his five great-grandchildren: Anthony D’Agostino, Owen Mitchell, Lucas D’Agostino, Ashton Fuller, and Avery Fuller; and his brother Sebastiano Melluzzo as well as countless nephews, nieces, cousins, and dear friends. Salvatore will be remembered by all as a kind and loving man who above all had an endless love for his family. New Britain Memorial-Donald D.
