Sebastiano Germano

Sebastiano Germano, 87, of New Britain passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Friday, December 4, 2015. He was born in Solarino, Sicily, Italy in 1928. He briefly served in the Italian military before moving to Australia in 1955, where he worked for the postal service. In 1973 he immigrated to the United States where he settled with his family in New Britain. He was employed by Fafnir Bearing for 18 years.

Sebastiano was predeceased by his wife, Guiseppina (Miano) Germano.

He leaves two sons, Salvatore Germano and his wife Alexandra of Farmington and Paul Germano and his wife Mary of Berlin. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Brendan, Olivia, Nicholas and Maxwell; his three brothers, Michele, Paulo and Concetto and many nieces and nephews throughout Connecticut, New Jersey and Italy. He was also predeceased by his sister Guiseppina and brothers Geatano and Giuseppe.

Calling hours will be on Tuesday, December 8th from 5:00 to 8: 00 PM at the New Britain Memorial Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave., New Britain. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, December 9th at 10:00 AM at the New Britain Memorial Sagarino Funeral Home followed by a mass of funeral liturgy at 11:00 AM at St. Jerome Church., Slater Rd. New Britain. Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery.
