Sophie Mary Paulauskas

Sophie (Timmy) (Lazicki) Paulauskas, 100, long time resident of New Britain, widow of Anthony Paulauskas, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, (October 24, 2021) surrounded by her loving family. Sophie was born on September 22, 1921 in New Britain, CT, daughter of the late Taduesz and Tekla Lazicki (Wodzenska). She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church in New Britain. She was also a longtime member of the VFW Women’s Auxillary of New Britain. She was an avid knitter and made afghans for all of her family and many more for Veterans. She is survived by her 5 children: Darrell Paulauskas and his wife Linda, Linda Stewart, Ellen Farrah and her husband Habib, Laura Dunn and her husband Ken, and Mary Jones and her husband Keith. She leaves her cherished 10 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild, and many nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held at the New Britain Memorial Funeral Home on Monday, November 1st from 9AM to 10:30AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, November 1st at 11AM at St Francis of Assisi church in New Britain. Burial at Fairview Cemetery in New Britain. In lieu of flowers please made a donation to a Veterans Charity of your choice in Sophie’s name.
